Title:  The Department of Plant Biology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applications for a lecturer.

Responsibilities:   For the summer of 2013, this position will teach a field course, PLB 451, Flora of Southern Illinois. The teaching of this course includes 1) Selecting field sites for class field trips and making relevant preparations; 2) Supervising all field trips; 3) Training students in the identification of regional plant taxa; 4) Training students in proper sampling and preservation of plant samples; 5) Evaluating student work in the course and record/report student grades.

Qualifications:  A Master of Science degree or higher in biology, experience in plant identification, plant ecology, and conservation biology, as well as specific knowledge of and experience working in natural areas of the Southern Illinois region.

Effective Date:  Position begins June 16, 2013.
