Researcher II (Peatland Ecology)

Position:  Researcher II (Peatland Ecology).  The Department of Plant Biology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applications for a grant-funded 12-month position in peatland ecology, renewable with availability of funding.

Appointment Date: January 2, 2013

Duties are:

1)  Field sampling for a n-challenge experiment in northern Alberta, Canada, including prolonged time in the field;

2)  Laboratory analyses of peat and plant samples;

3)  Communicating and organizing annual reports and meetings of the research team; and

4)  Overseeing undergraduate student workers.

Qualifications: Master of Science degree in plant biology, experience carrying out fieldwork in remote areas, and demonstrated experience in peatland ecology.
