Position: Chief Academic Advisor, College of Applied Sciences and Arts

Appointment Date: July 15, 2013

Required: Master's degree, three years academic advising experience, computer skills.

Preferred: Master's degree in education, guidance, or a related field. Skills in Power Point, database, spreadsheet, word processing, working knowledge of SalukiNet, Banner, Argos, Hobsons, and similar programs. Highly motivated self-starter and team player; good communication and problem solving skills.


  1. Oversee all aspects of the College's advisement from admission and registration to tracking academic progress and graduation for undergraduate students within the College of Applied Sciences and Arts for on- and off-campus programs.
  2. Assist schools/departments in resolving unique academic problems of current and former students.
  3. Taking a leadership role in providing all College academic advisors, faculty, staff, and administrative personnel up-to-date information on University and College procedures and policy related to advisement, registration, and other academic matters.
  4. Provide appropriate input and data regarding the College's recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies.
  5. Provide support for student-related activities at the University, College, and School/Department levels.
  6. Provide academic advisement support for departments and schools when needed.
  7. Oversee the College's undecided pool.
  8. Represent the College on various university-level committees related to advisement, recruitment, and retention.
  9. Supervise the CASA off-campus academic advisor, any assigned Graduate Assistant(s) and student help.
  10. Oversee the College's website to ensure accuracy, completeness, and news update.
  11. Engage in other assignments as determined by the Associate Dean.
