Researcher II

Position: This is a one hundred percent (100%) time term position beginning as soon as possible. Continued appointment is dependent on periodic performance reviews, and extension of appointment is subject to availability of grant funds.

Qualifications: Researcher II applicants are required to have a MS degree in Molecular Biology, Physiology or related field, or a BS degree in Molecular Biology, Physiology or related field and at least 2 years relevant laboratory experience. Research experience in cellular biology, molecular biology, electrophysiology or behavioral studies are preferred qualifications.

Duties: Scientific projects will relate to the study of mechanisms of neurological diseases, such as depression. Duties include:

  1. Perform independent work under direction, mainly for cellular and molecular biology, electrophysiological experiment preparation, conduction and data analysis.
  2. General laboratory maintenance.
  3. Maintaining compliance records.
  4. Assisting other laboratory personnel with experiments.
  5. Participating in appropriate professional activities, such as lab meetings and journal clubs and assisting in laboratory funds allocation management.
