Assistant Director, Transfer Relations: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks an Assistant Director for Transfer Relations. The assistant director oversees transfer recruitment initiatives, coordinates the Dual Admission Program, teaches a transfer orientation course, creates transfer plans for prospective students, supervises transfer recruitment staff, serves as the Transfer Coordinator for the University, and is a member of the Undergraduate Admissions Leadership Team.

Duties and Responsibilities: Staff oversight and management is required. The position must act without direct supervision on and off-campus, and will act as the decision maker for recruitment in the absence of the director and associate director, occasionally acting as the office decision maker in the absence of other middle management and the director. This position is expected to be part of the Undergraduate Leadership Team, setting the course for the unit and recommending policy and procedures in accordance with the law and policies established by the University. The nature of this position requires irregular hours, numerous weekend and evening activities, regular direct interaction with students and other stakeholders, and keen decision-making skills and knowledge to create transfer plans. The position is an office and campus leader, and it is necessary to speak on behalf of the University in various situations as the sole representative of the University.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree; At least one year of experience working with transfer students in a variety of ways (recruitment, advisement, and/or general planning of a smooth transfer to a four year institution); Evidence of extensive knowledge of articulation between community colleges and universities; Public speaking experience in a professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of SIU Carbondale; One year supervisory experience in a professional setting; Experience teaching at the college level; Knowledge of Enrollment Management through work or intern experience; Professional membership and/or presentation experience in recognized admissions-related organizations. Knowledge of Banner Student Information System.
