Southern Illinois University Carbondale Graduate School invites applications and nominations for the Coordinator of Recruitment and Retention for Graduate Diversity. This is a 12-month, term,
Administrative/Professional appointment. The selected individual will coordinate and support the Graduate School's mission to recruit and retain a diverse student body. This includes coordination of Graduate Diversity Affairs Programs such as Proactive Recruitment of Multicultural Professionals for Tomorrow (PROMPT) assistantships, Graduate Dean Fellowships and other programs for underserved and/or underrepresented students. The selected individual will provide support for the development and continuation of various initiatives and events; will participate in recruitment on and off campus (including traveling); will coordinate the development of the Graduate Education Resource Service center for undergraduate students; will coordinate volunteers who assist with recruitment and retention programming, and will provide general coordination for recruitment and retention activities.
Minimum Requirements: Master's Degree in Public Relations, Management, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling or other related area plus five years of progressively responsible experience in a college/university setting. Preference will be given to applicants with higher-education experience in the area of diversity/inclusivity.
Effective Date of Employment: The position will be available as soon as possible.
