Assistant Instructor/Assistant Lecturer (Electronic Journalism)

Position: Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Department of Radio, Television, and Digital Media is seeking an Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Instructor in Electronic Journalism. This is a term, non-tenure-track appointment for one semester.

Qualifications: Position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience as an Electronic Journalist. For appointment at the rank of Assistant Lecturer, a Master's Degree is required. For appointment at the rank of Assistant Instructor, the applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Journalism or a related field, and exceptional tested professional experience (examples include but are not limited to: five (5) or more years of experience in a top 50 TV market as defined by Nielsen Digital Media Research, receipt of regional or national awards, evidence of effective prior teaching experience in a 4-year college setting, expert experience as a consultant offering workshops and/or seminars). For appointment at either rank, skills must include broadcast news writing, news and/or sports reporting, producing, multimedia journalism, and/or investigative reporting in a digital environment.
