The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks highly qualified applicants for two part-time, term, non-tenure-track faculty positions (instructor). The successful candidates will teach one or more courses per semester. One position is for teaching courses primarily in Civil Engineering Materials and Structures area and the other position is for teaching courses primarily in the Environmental Engineering area. If a suitable candidate is not available in the above areas, candidates with expertise in other areas of Civil Engineering may be selected based on the needs of the Department to cover courses. These positions are contingent on availability of funding. The appointment will be for one semester initially. Contract term is renewable, contingent on performance and availability of funding. Anticipated start date for both positions is August 16, 2018.

Qualifications: A Master of Science or PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required. Applicants must have university-level teaching experience.
