Visiting Instructors
Department of Technology (Off-Campus Degree Program)
Southern Illinois University Carbondale

Position: Visiting Instructors (term; non-tenure track)

Qualifications: Master’s degree, at least one degree must be industry related (such as industrial technology, engineering management, industrial engineering), and at least five (5) years industrial experience or comparable teaching experience for the specific course being hired to teach. A PhD is preferred.

Applicants may be subject to background check via RAPIDGate for military site access.

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach courses in the Industrial Management and Applied Engineering degree program. Typical courses are: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, GD&T, Industrial Safety, Industrial Robotics, Production and Inventory Control, Cost Estimating, Facilities Planning and Manufacturing Processes. The program is conducted in a weekend format at Dover Air Force Base, DE; Little Rock Air Force Base, AR; NAVSUPPACT Mid-South Memphis, TN; Scott Air Force Base, IL; as well as at Peoria, Champaign, Joliet, Grayslake, River Grove, and Alton, IL.

Salary: $800.00 per credit hour.

Effective Date of Appointment: Depending on the course scheduled to be taught over the two-year program.
