POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Assistant Professors (High Performance Computing or Computer Security)
Department of Computer Science
Southern Illinois University Carbondale

Position/Rank: Two Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Computer Science, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, 9-month, continuing, tenure-track appointment.

Appointment Date: January 1, 2019.

Qualifications:

  1. PhD in computer science or related field. PhD candidates will be considered if all degree requirements will be completed by December 31, 2018.
  2. Evidence of high-quality ongoing and future research.
  3. Teaching competency in a reasonable number of computer science subjects at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
  4. Specialty in High Performance Computing or Computer Security.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in computer science.
  2. Conduct high-quality research and direct graduate student research in computer science.
  3. Participate in activities that support the department's mission of teaching, research, and service.
