Position/Rank: Assistant Professor position in the Department of Computer Science, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, 9-month, continuing, tenure-track appointment.

Appointment Date: August 16, 2019

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. in computer science or related field. Ph.D. Applicants will be considered if all degree requirements will be completed by August 15, 2019. If all requirements for the Ph.D. are not completed by August 15, 2019, a nine-month, term, non-tenure track appointment at a lower salary rate may be offered, in accordance with University policy. https://policies.siu.edu/personnel-policies/chapter2/ch2-faps/conting.php
  2. Evidence of high quality ongoing and future research.
  3. Teaching competency in a reasonable number of computer science subjects at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
  4. Specialty in Graphics and Game Development/Software Engineering.


  1. Teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in computer science.
  2. Conduct high quality research and direct graduate student research in computer science.
  3. Participate in activities that support the department's mission of teaching, research, and service.
