Clinical Assistant Professor
Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for two full-time Clinical Assistant Professor positions starting August 16, 2018.

Appointment: Term, non-tenure track appointment.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses, both online and on campus, in subjects such as computer science I and II, programming languages, data structures, computer security, computer literacy, systems programming, software development, web-based programming, distributed systems and discrete math. Duties will also include student retention and recruitment activities.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are a PhD degree in computer science or a closely related area at time of appointment, knowledge of the subject material, and the ability to manage graduate teaching assistants. Knowledge of C++, C#, Java, Linux, computer literacy, computer security, software engineering, and discrete math is required. Previous experience in using Desire-2-Learn system is preferred.
