Assistant Dean for Recruitment and Retention

Description: A full-time position as Assistant Dean of Recruitment and Retention is open for employment in the College of Science. The person in this position will work with the Dean's staff to coordinate student recruitment and retention and collaborate on data management of student information for the College of Science.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Dean for Recruitment and Retention is the primary administrator that helps the Dean develop and manage recruitment and retention for the College of Science. This individual will assist the Dean in developing initiatives related to science education for the College of Science, and administrative support duties as assigned by the Dean related to recruitment and retention within the college. The Assistant Dean coordinates planning with College departments for recruitment and retention. This position will assist the Principle Investigator for the Illinois Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. The Assistant Dean plans, monitors, and assesses College of Science Living Learning Community education projects. Some overnight and extended travel is required for this position.

Qualifications:

  1. A Master's degree in education, science, or higher education administration; two years experience with administrative policies and procedures at the University level required.
  2. Must possess effective computer skills, organizational skills and be able to work effectively with little or no direct supervision on multiple projects.
  3. Experience working with Hobsons CONNECT® student prospecting database or Hobsons RETAIN® preferred.
  4. Experience with Banner and Workflow, or similar databases preferred.
  5. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills preferred.

Effective Date: The position will begin as soon as possible.
