Lecturer (Full-Time) (Studio Voice)

Title: Lecturer, non-tenure-track 9-month term appointment, specializing in Studio Voice, School of Music, SIU Carbondale

Qualifications: Soprano or mezzo-soprano. Master of Music in performance. Experience studio teaching in a variety of styles at the collegiate level. Demonstrated ability to inspire music students and to work collegially with faculty.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate or MFA. Experience teaching classical, CCM, and/or choral singers. Keyboard skills, active performing agenda, choral conducting experience, music or state direction experience. Training in voice science and pedagogy.

Duties: Teach studio voice to classical, music theater (CCM), and choral singers. Teach singer’s diction, opera workshop, voice class. Recruit voice students. Possible teaching duties may also include ensemble direction, song literature, aural skills, or other courses based on the needs of the department and qualifications of the candidate.
