Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Professor of Practice (Variable Time)
Department of Sociology
Southern Illinois University Carbondale

Position: Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Professor of Practice (part-time, term non-tenure track appointment), Department of Sociology, Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Sociology or closely related field. Education and experience must be appropriate to the teaching assignment with appropriate teaching experience at the university level. Preference will be given to applicants with a doctorate in sociology or closely related field. For individuals holding a doctorate, the appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice.

Duties: Teach courses as needed in the Department of Sociology. Course assignment(s) in undergraduate sociology courses. The expected course assignment will be two sections of Race and Ethnicity each semester, including at least one distance education section each semester.

Date of Employment: January 1, 2019; one semester term appointment renewable contingent on performance, curricular need, and university approval.
