Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites nominations for and applications from individuals interested in assuming an exciting leadership opportunity as associate chancellor for enrollment management. The associate chancellor for enrollment management provides strategic leadership and direction in planning for and meeting the enrollment goals of the university. The incumbent will be responsible for the full development and implementation of policies and programs that create and support a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan. The associate chancellor for enrollment management reports directly to the chancellor.

SIU Carbondale is a doctoral research university enrolling students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. SIU offers more than 200 undergraduate, 70 master’s and 31 doctoral programs in addition to professional degrees in law and medicine. Founded in 1869 as the state’s second teachers college, SIU Carbondale is the flagship campus of the Southern Illinois University System.  It is a strong, diverse, student-centered research-intensive and comprehensive university that recently earned the prestigious 2015 community engagement classification from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

In partnership with the enrollment team and university leadership, the associate chancellor for enrollment management will develop a comprehensive multi-year recruitment and communication plan that is relevant and responsive to the marketplace and will lead the continued development of a state-of–the art enrollment approach that addresses objectives, resources and opportunities. He/she will offer innovation in strategy and decision making to impact the application life cycle with the intent of yield improvement to meet the enrollment goals of the university. The associate chancellor will lead metrics-driven efforts to identify and measure the most desired qualities for students enrolling at the university, with the goal of meeting or exceeding annual undergraduate enrollment and revenue goals with the optimal mix of students.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree and a record of professional achievement with increasing levels of demonstrated success. Master’s degree preferred. Applicants must also have sustained, effective, significant (over seven years) higher education leadership experience in a successful enrollment management position as well as experience leading enrollment management efforts in a matrix organization with quantifiable results penetrating and opening new regional, national, and international markets.
