Assistant Director for Marketing and Advertising
University Communications and Marketing
Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field and three years of directly related experience or master's degree and one year of directly related experience; working knowledge of advertising and marketing principles and practices; project management experience; experience within a higher education environment preferred; exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively and collaboratively internally and externally; ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-focused environment.
Position Duties: Develops, negotiates and implements approved advertising plans for the university; meets with vendors, vetting proposals and recommending strategy that supports university enrollment and image goals within budget. Manages advertising contracting and budget in compliance with university business and legal processes. Establishes and tracks metrics to evaluate effectiveness and impact of advertising and select marketing initiatives. Advises on and assists campus departments with effective advertising and marketing strategies; review and recommends strategies and guidelines to support university-wide advertising planning and cost effectiveness. Manages the traffic of externally and internally developed creative materials with vendors.
