Position: Administrative Professional (Assistant Director of Head Start)

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field. Accounting degrees with relevant experience will be considered. Knowledge of accounting procedures with three years of experience managing grant budgets; Three years of administrative experience in a child care, school or social service setting that included supervision of at least five employees. Applicant with experience working with or in a Head Start program is preferred.

This is a security-sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check.

Duties: Assists the Director with the overall administration of the agency and its programs. Assists in ensuring the program’s full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, state and local regulations, and university and granting agency fiscal policies. Manages overall fiscal responsibility of Head Start budgets and outside funding sources. Assists in the preparation of federal grant applications and the management of grant awards.  Applies innovative analysis of multiple data sources to inform program decision making. Provides direction, support and supervision of staff. Serves as liaison between Head Start and or the Director, internal staff, external unity, and outside agencies.
