Assistant Professor (Radiologic Sciences)

The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Professor position within ASA's School of Allied Health's Radiologic Sciences program beginning August 16, 2019. This is a continuing, nine-month, tenure track position.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in education, health, or a related field at time of application is required. The applicant must be registered in radiography, RT(R), with at least one of the following credentials: Radiation Therapy, MRI, CT, or Sonography. Applicants must have at least five years of professional work experience within the Radiologic Sciences arena that includes two years teaching within an accredited program. Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as organizational and technology skills. A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience working within a JRCERT accredited program that documents teaching and supervisory experience with Radiologic Science students. Doctorate degree preferred.

Duties:

• To provide direct classroom/laboratory/clinical instruction and office hours as assigned.
• To teach via online and traditional delivery methods.
• To provide indirect teaching, such as: student selection, coordination of clinical education, student advisement, recruitment, and retention for the program in Radiologic Sciences.
• Lift phantoms in a laboratory setting.
• Drive to distant clinical education sites.
• To participate in all program duties as described in accreditation standards, which include program assessment activities.
• To participate in professional practice, seminars, or workshops necessary to maintain up-to-date skills in the Radiologic Sciences.
• Assist with student recruitment and retention activities and perform service duties as assigned.
• Conduct scholarly research and produce creative activities consistent with School of Allied Health expectations.
• Some travel will be expected to meet workload assignment.
• Engage in other duties as determined by the Director of the School of Allied Health.
