Assistant Instructor/ Assistant Lecturer (Dental Hygiene)

EXTENDED DEADLINE

Position: The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at SIU-Carbondale is seeking a qualified applicant for an Assistant Instructor/Assistant Lecturer position in ASA's School of Allied Health Dental Hygiene Program beginning August 16, 2019, or until filled. This is a non-tenure-track, variable time, term position with the possibility of renewal contingent on satisfactory performance, curricular needs, and available funding.

Organizational Relationships: This position reports directly to the Director of the School of Allied Health via the Dental Hygiene Program Director.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold, at minimum, a Bachelor's degree and be registered as a Dental Hygienist licensed in Illinois or eligible for licensure by August 16, 2019. Must have a minimum of one and a half years work experience as a dental hygienist with certification in local anesthesia. The individual in the position must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

This is a security-sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and Dentrix experience preferred.
