Seeking part-time (50%), term, non-tenure track faculty at rank of Instructor to serve at the off-campus site on Great Lakes Naval Station in North Chicago, IL for the School of Information Systems and Applied Technologies (ISAT), College of Applied Sciences and Arts (CASA), Southern Illinois University (SIU) Carbondale. The individual in this position reports directly to the School Director, School of ISAT, CASA, SIU Carbondale. Initial appointment will end on May 15, 2017. Renewal of this appointment is contingent on performance and available funding. This position’s home base is the Great Lakes Naval Station in North Chicago, IL and requires part-time, on-site duties to be performed at the Naval Station. Regular travel to SIU Carbondale will also be required.

ISAT provides three BS degree programs for SIU Carbondale undergraduate students – Electronic Systems Technologies (EST), Information Systems Technologies (IST), and Technical Resource Management (TRM). These three degree programs are offered on-campus at SIU Carbondale, at five off-campus sites, and online. ISAT has a strong near future plan to expand cutting edge curriculums at the off-campus and online campuses in parallel with on-campus curriculum. Responsibilities: In addition to reaching responsibilities, the person in this position will assist the ISAT Director with coordination and development of the ISAT Distance Education in the Great Lakes Naval Station: Engage in recruitment and retention of EST, IST, and TRM off-campus partnerships with the ISAT instructors; Secure and maintain partnerships with the ISAT industry and schools in their assigned areas; Remain abreast of developments in the ISAT industry; Participate in ISAT Advisory Board meetings; Provide suggestions for membership on the ISAT Advisory Board; Participate in curriculum review and course development with the Director and ISAT faculty; Represent the ISAT programs to EST/IST/TRM affiliated organizations where necessary; Participate in the review and selection of course materials and text books; Assist in the evaluation of professional certifications and work experience for granting credit to students; Engage in other assignments as determined by the Director; Teach ISAT off-campus or online class per semester as part of their workload.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications: ability to work independently; strong industry work experience.
