Business Development Specialist

Full-time position with the SIU Carbondale Office of Economic and Regional Development in the Illinois Small Business Development Center. This is a term position and is subject to renewal based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, International Business, or related field. A minimum of 2 years experience required in assisting companies with international trade business development, which can include exporting, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, international financing, or related. Certification in Global Trade or Exports is preferred.

Duties: This position will provide direct business consulting to small business owners with international trade interests or potential. This position will provide research and planning to assist in exports. This position will require the ability to assist clients with complex export documentation while adhering to US regulations. This position will provide advocacy and outreach to the southern Illinois business community and may require local, overnight, and potentially international travel.

Salary: Midpoint salary for Business Development Specialist is $3,488 per month. Will include SIU Carbondale benefits.

Anticipated Start Date: Monday, January 6, 2014.
