Counseling Psychologist (Full-Time)

The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Services (SHS) at SIU Carbondale is seeking applications for two Counseling Psychologist positions. CAPS maintains an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship and provides comprehensive mental health services to diverse students of a large state university. Staff provides individual, group, couples, and crisis counseling; community intervention and social justice activities; and supervises practicum students and interns. This is a 12-month, full-time term appointment. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, professional liability coverage, and salary commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate by start date of employment in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from APA or CPA accredited program. Successful completion of APA or CPA accredited pre-doctoral internship in professional psychology. Eligibility for registration as licensed psychologist in State of Illinois within 12 months of start date of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Licensed as a psychologist in State of Illinois or licensed psychologist in another state and is eligible to become licensed in Illinois within six months of employment. University or community health experience.

This is a security-sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is made, the university will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check.
